Today we release the design and began production of Verdis’ new identity cards. The previous design originating in 2022 will no longer be issued but all identification cards on the old design will remain valid until they reach their expiry date.
Citizens can apply for the new identification cards on the myGov portal at https://my.vrdgov.org
This comes as we continue to change the design and security of many of our identification documents, including new passport designs entering production later this year.
New cards are not biometric but now contain an MRZ code on the back. The new cards also contain new security features on the front including wavy holograms (checkered) and a UV dull square with stripes on the top right above the Coat of Arms.
